Summary of Committees:
Committees are expected to include multiple volunteers working together and supported by coaches, players, and the booster club.
Banquet Committee
- Our boys’ soccer season always ends with celebration and reflection and includes food, awards, slide presentations, letter presentations, senior gifts, and thank-yous. The Banquet Committee plans the location, menu, decorating and program with input and support from our Coaches and Booster Board.
Fundraising Committee
- This committee has responsibility for coordination of all fundraising activities. This would include oversight of any fundraising activities arranged throughout the year.
Community Night Committee
- Once a season, the boys’ and girls’ programs host Community Night, a special event held during a single home game for each team. This committee, working with the girls boosters, coordinates all decorations, food, prize drawings, giveaways, and other Community Night activities.
Summary of Coordinators:
Coordinators are typically one or two individuals supported by coaches, players, and the booster club.
Ball Boy Coordinator
- Each varsity team is required to have 4-6 ball boys. The Ball Boy Coordinator will work with our 9th & 10th grade teams to ensure we have players to be available on the sidelines for hustling after balls that stray off the field. The coordinator creates a schedule of volunteers, makes “reminder” calls the night before the game.
Concession Coordinator
- This position is responsible for seeking volunteers to work the concessions during the Varsity soccer games. The Boys’ Booster Club is responsible for managing the concession stand during the Girls’ Varsity soccer games, while the Girls’ Booster Club is responsible for managing the concession stand during the Boys’ Varsity soccer games. A legacy of concession coordinators from the past will supply this person with all that’s needed for providing refreshments to fans attending the girls’ soccer matches, including food ordering information, volunteer rotation hours, instructions in food prep, set up & take down, and pricing guidelines.
Social Media Coordinator
- The Social Media Coordinator maintains all RHS Boys Soccer Social Media, keeping our social presence current with the latest news and information.
Feed My Starving Children Coordinator
- During each season, a day is designated for players on all teams to come together to pack food at Feed My Starving Children. This is typically done on a practice day and is done in lieu of practice. This is a great opportunity for team building while helping to make a difference in the lives of children around the world. The FMSC Coordinator will work with the Booster Club and Coach to select a day during the season and reserve spots for packing at FMSC for the group. The coordinator will also organize parent volunteers to cover the adult to minor ratio requirement of FMSC.
Game Day Signage Coordinator
- This person has responsibility for coordinating the placement of street signs around town for all varsity home games. This is to promote the visibility of Boys Irish Soccer in the community.
Program Coordinator
- This person has responsibility to raise money for the club as well as design & create the programs to be printed and distributed throughout the year for varsity home games. This role contacts previous sponsors as well as new potential sponsors of the Irish Soccer Program. There is also coordination of photos, printing and distribution plus thank you’s to the sponsors.
Senior Night Coordinator
- One home soccer game during the season will be designated as "Senior Night". At halftime, each senior player and his parents are introduced and a short biography is read over the PA system. Senior players present their parents with a memento such as a rose. The coordinator gathers the information for the biography, types each up for the PA announcer, arranges the mementos for the players to give their parents, and arranges for a volunteer photographer to take pictures of each player with his parents.
Teacher Appreciation Night Coordinator
- During half time at one Varsity home game senior players show their appreciation for their favorite elementary, middle or high school teacher. The coordinator organizes the event by providing and collecting forms for the seniors to fill out, invites the teachers to the event, chooses the thank you cards and gifts to be presented to the teachers, arranges for a photographer, and provides the script for the PA announcer.
Spirit Wear Coordinator
- Each year RHS Boys Soccer offers spirit wear for purchase. The Spirit Wear Coordinator works with a merchant to choose items and set up a storefront for fans. They may also coordinate the delivery of bulk orders.
Summary of Team Volunteers:
Team Volunteers directly support individual teams and are asked to volunteer after teams have been selected.
Team Parents (note for Varsity, parents of Team Captains)
- This person will represent the team at the booster club meetings and will help with communications with the booster club. The Team Parent also coordinates volunteers for various team specific essentials, such as team spaghetti dinners and team photographers. Optional activities organized by the Team Parent may include providing parents with a roster of team players, along with their jersey numbers or setting up a sharing site for game pictures.
Team Photographers
- Take pictures of your son and his teammates during games. These photos will be the source for our year end slide show montage.
Team Spaghetti Dinner Hosts
- Spaghetti dinners are a great deal of fun for the boys and provide an opportunity for team bonding. Hosting one of the team spaghetti dinners during the season at your home involves providing food and beverages. Reimbursement for expenses is available through the Booster Club. Please consult with the Treasurer for details.
